Advocate for Nature Play...

I advocate for nature play by:

  • Presenting to key stakeholders about the profound and positive impact nature connection has on our health and wellbeing.

  • Helping your early learning centre/school/organisation embed natural play elements into your spaces for low/no cost.

  • Attending conferences, community open days, school fetes...

Consult your kids...

Using my extensive collection of loose parts, children (and adults) are inspired to design and enrich play spaces with natural elements.

Children can actually construct and explain their design ideas in order to influence the play space design in a meaningful way.

Play mapping is also a great (and evidence-based) way to identify children's play behaviours, preferences and any gaps in play provision. I can create a "State of Play" report for your school or service to support improved play provision for all.

Activate your nature space...

Activation sessions enable you to maximise the use of the new/revitalised nature space by providing optimal learning experiences and outcomes, in order to get the most out of your investment.

These sessions are designed to build your confidence in facilitating activities and managing behaviours within your nature space.

Workshops...

  • Professional Development workshops for schools, early learning centres, local councils and more...

  • I will present an interactive overview of the positive and profound impact that access to the outdoors and nature has on child development, wellbeing and learning, referring to the latest evidence.

  • Workshops can be tailored to include specific topics including play mapping, sensory integration and self-regulation in outdoor play settings.

  • I will provide practical strategies to encourage staff to embed play and nature connection into recess, lunch and beyond.

I acknowledge the traditional owners of the land on which I live and learn; the Whadjuk people of the Noongar nation.

I pay my respects to Elders past and present, and thank them for caring for this land, and I extend that respect and thanks to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today.
